Major Revision Copyright Date Process Change

From Jan 2023 we changed our Copyright & Credits page of the course guide.

Copyright Dates

In new courses and major revisions that are ID-led, we will now list only the date of the current copyright year on the Copyright & Credits page in the course guide. Do not include all the copyright dates for previous minor revisions or previous major editions of the course.

For maintenance or minor revisions, we will continue to list the current copyright year and list all the dates of previous revisions dating back to the last major edition.

Examples: Copyright & Credits

Maintenance revision:

Copyright © 2022 (Revised), 2018 (Revised), 2013 Thompson Rivers University. All rights reserved.

Major edition (ID-led) or new course:

Copyright © 2023 Thompson Rivers University. All rights reserved.

Course Development / Revision Team Lists

In new courses and major revisions that are ID-led, list only the developers of the current edition on the Copyright & Credits page in the course guide. Do not include all the copyright dates for previous minor revisions or previous major editions of the course.

In maintenance revisions, list the group of revisors who worked on the current project and each maintenance project dating back to the last major revision or edition.

House style:

  • Verify the person’s academic credential with the OLFM Directory, LinkedIn, or Dani Collins’s list.
  • List the people as first name and last name, academic degree.
  • Do not use periods between letters in degree acronyms.
  • Include the person’s terminal or highest credential only.
  • Group the list by years of editions and revisions. Include the year in the heading.
  • Order maintenance revision groups in reverse chronological order; i.e., most recent is at the top and earliest is at the bottom of the page.

Maintenance revisions: list the revision team, the previous revision teams, and the previous major edition or copyright date of the original course:
